The Short Answer
The short answer––it depends on the complexity, scope, and scale of what you need to get done. Every product is different, and there is no easy answer. We know that probably doesn’t help, but that’s the reality of it. That being said, we’d like to be more helpful, so we’ve tried to help you out. Below are a few examples of how we bill and what criteria will inform the final pricing for our services.
The Important Pricing Variables
There are a lot of things that go into pricing. Here are a few of the criteria we use to price our work:
- Materials used
- Manufacturing location
- Warehouse location
- Product size and weight
How We Bill
Depending on the product or service we have an hourly billing rate of $125/hour. This is typically for our engineering and design services. The final cost will depend on the number of variations and initial research needed. We will always provide a cost estimate and get your approval before billing.
Our management services bill on a fee basis. All our projects begin with a detailed review of your product and what we can do for you. We then break out all our core services and price each one. You are then free to choose one, two, or all of the services we offer. This makes it easy for you to control your costs and pick only the services you need from us. To get started, give us a call or fill out our product questionnaire.
Free Design and Engineering For Current Customers
One of the most significant problems we tried to solve is making sure your product is the best that it can be. Many times customers need to make a quick tweet to improve their product. We feel that charging our hourly rate for small updates is not fair. That’s why for all our customers with active POs we include our engineering and design services for free. We do cap the number of hours per month, but so far we have never told a customer they have no more hours left. The free design and engineering are not for new products but for the existing products that we are managing.
